Shush them all away... [02 Jan 2005|10:29pm]
[ mood | calm ]

I have returned now, from my lovely holiday vacation thing.

My awesome girlfriend got me the Unida album "Coping With The Urban Coyote"

This album is pretty rare, since the label that put it out, Man's Ruin, went out of business a while back. Which is weird, because if you sit back and look at all of the kick ass bands that were on the Man's Ruin label, it's almost impossible to imagine how it could have gone out of business.

I already had all but one of the songs from this album on my computer (Thanks to Kazaa and LimeWire), and since I couldn't locate that last song, I knew I would want to have the CD eventually. I think I would have gotten it anyways even if I already did have all the songs...having the album just makes it more kick ass.
Anyways, the song I was missing was track 5, "If Only Two" - and now that I've heard it, I'm glad I got the CD. It totally rocks. I just got a RipWay account - useful for hosting mp3 files...so I think I'm gonna post it on here tonight.

But wait a minute...what does Unida have to do with Kyuss? Let me educate you. Unida features former Kyuss frontman(singer), John Garcia. I think of all the former Kyuss members, he's the one I have followed around the most, trying to figure out what they are all up to now. I'll go into that another time though...
It's not only John Garcia who makes the band Unida rock out though, it's the whole band.
The original lineup consisted of Garcia, guitarist Arthur Seay, bassist Dave Dinsmore, and drummer Mike Cancino...who all lack notoriety(except for Garcia of course) but still know how to rock some ass. After a period of time, Dave Dinsmore left the band and was replaced by ANOTHER former Kyuss member, bassist Scott Reeder(god).
Sadly, I fear that they won't officially be together again, seeing as their website no longer exists. John Garcia is currently working on touring and promoting his current prjoect, Hermano, which I think i talked about before.

But anyways...her'e the song.

It's a low quality file, to save space. If you like it and want a better quality version, send me an IM or an email or something.

Creative tonight... [20 Dec 2004|01:05am]

Tonight I made a Kyuss desktop. It's nothing real fancy...but if you want you can check it out here.

Last night I found a site for this one bootleg that is/was widely traded among Kyuss fans. On the site, ALL the tracks were readily available for downloading! It was sweet...but it seemed like some of the longer songs, were cut way short when being played live.

Hi, this is my first post here on my LJ, foreverkyuss.
Most of you who know me, already know that Kyuss is my favorite band. I think they rock. In fact, they kick ass. Well, kicked ass, anyways...since they aren't really together anymore...but anyways, I guess that's kind of what this place is for. Sort of a...memoir. I'll post stuff about the band, about their music, their history, where they are now...that type of stuff. Hopefully I won't bore you too much. =)
